As a customer-service oriented practice, we understand that our responsibility is to both the patient and to the physician and staff working with that physician. We know our physician clients and their staff need accurate, rapid and clinically relevant diagnosis. We also know they need excellent communication, reliability and availability from their Pathologist consultants. Their patients need the same, along with a competent, courteous business office to first minimize any need to contact us, but then to be able to resolve any matters that might later arise. It is our goal to consistently provide the highest level of service, even in today’s hectic medical environment.
Broad experience, an unmatched level of excellence, exceptional turnaround time, and ease of referral are the fundamental indicators we use to constantly and consistently provide worry free, one-stop diagnostic specialty service to you.
Pathology Associates works to maintain a culture of excellence. We support one another with internal consultations, we review each other’s work in ongoing peer review, we obtain CME relevant to the work we do, and we don’t cut corners. Our goal is to issue clinically helpful reports, for example comparing and correlating case findings with relevant prior accessions from the patient. We provide direct access to a Pathologist at any time, and we are pleased to discuss any aspects of a specific case with referring Physicians. We maintain contacts with internationally respected consultants and refer cases to them, on our own initiative, when prudent. The all-important Anatomic Pathology Laboratory supporting us and directed by us, is accredited by the College of American Pathologists, and has been for many years.
Pathology Associates is a leading pathology practice providing a full range of anatomic pathology services including extensive diagnostic procedures and specialist consultations. Pathology Associates has a 22 year history in Fresno. Members have Specialty Boards in Blood Banking and Transfusion Medicine, Forensic Pathology, Cytopathology, Molecular Pathology, Dermatopathology and Hematopathology. We are a stable group, and the pride-of-ownership that comes with being a large partnership shows.
Inpatient hospital referrals are derived from stable long-term relationships with seven active local hospitals, including Community Regional Medical Center, a regional teaching hospital and level one trauma center affiliated with the UCSF-Fresno Medical Education Program. UCSF- Fresno has 240 residents and fellows, with fellowship programs in numerous internal medicine and surgical subspecialties. A planned UC Merced Medical School will also make extensive use of the Central Valley and Fresno for its clinical rotations. Pathologists in our group have clinical faculty status at UCSF and conduct conferences including Grand rounds, resident teaching, tumor boards, etc. In our rapidly growing area, a number of our contracted hospitals have either recently expanded their facilities and scope of services, or have plans for expansion.
